Filmmaker John Fink offers a new perspective on what's behind a great voice in this offbeat short comedy. Glottal Opera presents a performance by the Australian a capella group Kaya, but we see the four vocalists from an unusual angle -- a special fiber optic camera was placed in the throat of each singer, so we get to watch the workings of their vocal cords as they sing, rather than seeing their faces. The image is curious and a bit creepy at first, but also offers a fascinating glimpse into the workings of the human voice in action. Glottal Opera was an official selection at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.
