Needing a "quickie" film to fill their release schedule, the executives of the French-based Gaumont Studios searched no further than their own backyard. Glimpses of Paris is a series of travelogue-like vignettes, expectedly concentrating on such landmarks as the Arch of Triumph and the Eiffel Tower. Also included were brief shots of the city's equestrian parks and its well-populated boulevards. The film's medium shots of Parisian playgrounds might prove interesting to historians, if only to show how children entertained themselves back in 1909. In most cities, Glimpses of Paris was released in tandem with Gaumont's The Stolen Game.
