This Edison "scenic" was released on the same program as the studio's A Mountain Blizzard. In time-honored "before and after" fashion, the film opens with panoramic shots of a barren Colorado valley prior to its irrigation. The farmers move in, cultivate the land, and plant fruit trees. Before long, the valley is as fertile as anything found in Florida or California. Special attention is paid to the methods used to prevent the freezing of the crop -- specifically, smudge pots. The film ends as the fruit is packed and shipped to consumers all over the good ol' U.S.A.
