The title sums up the story in this Edison one-reeler. Dissatisfied with rural life, the heroine is lured away to the big city, where she hopes to achieve success as a stage actress. Alas, she is booed off the stage during her first performance -- and small wonder, since she has all the acting ability of a bowl of porridge. Disillusioned, the girl heads back to the farm, where she is warmly embrace by her hometown sweetheart, who never gave up hope that she'd come to her senses. Once again, the critic for Variety was more impressed with the "authentic" scenes of farm life than he was by the film itself.
