This Essanay drama had a standard 1910s plot -- a woman gambles away large sums of money without her husband's knowledge. Helen Rowe (Nell Craig) is the wife of a wealthy businessman (Darwin Karr). Gilbert Judson (Patrick Calhoun) and Lois Bedford (Marion Murray) become her closest friends. Helen has no idea that they are card sharps and she is their latest mark. Like anyone else caught in this situation, she starts off winning but it isn't long before she starts writing out I.O.U.s. When her husband gives her a diamond necklace, she has a fake made, and gives the real one to Judson to pay her debts. Meanwhile, the Rowes' have hired a new maid who is also a crook, and she steals the fake. Rowe calls a detective in on the case who finds one of Helen's I.O.U. slips and figures things out. He follows Helen and saves her from being attacked by the lusty Judson. The card sharp is wanted for a number of crimes, but the detective lets him go. He hangs onto the necklace, however, which he returns to Helen and her husband. Helen's gambling is kept secret from Rowe, but she has learned her lesson.
