Ilona Baltrusch directed this experimental feature which filters the emotional alienation of West Berlin in the 1980s through the stylistic influence of Jean-Luc Godard. Gretel Kemeny and Martin Peter play a bohemian couple who meet in a bar where he plays discordant, punk-influenced tunes on his guitar. Eventually the man and woman set out on a crime spree, but they have a hard time resolving their feelings for one another and their attitudes towards the world around them. Little seen upon its original release, Flug Durch Die Nacht (aka Flight Through The Night) was rediscovered in 2010 when the film was presented as a special selection at the Berlin International Film Festival.
