Brothers James and Allen Mornington (Myles McCarthy and Murdock MacQuarrie) are both addicted to cocaine, a character flaw which they chalk up to heredity. Eventually Allen kicks the habit and becomes a judge, but James remains a slave to the drug. When James comes up before Allen on a drug-pushing charge, Allen is unable to convict his own brother, retires from the bench, and resumes his coke-sniffing. A doctor tries to cure Allen, only to be killed for his troubles by James, who is his brother's chief supplier. Allen's daughter Hilda (Brownie Vernon) is accused of the doctor's murder and sentenced to hang. With the help of Hilda's physician sweetheart Franklin Shirley (Frank Borzage), Allen Mornington recovers from his drug-induced delirium long enough to prove his daughter's innocence.
