When Jim Lee (W. A. Jeffries) saves Jeff Flagg (Roy Stewart) from a group of bandits, the two cowboys become firm friends. They buy a ranch together, but when a copper mining company buys the land next to them, it stunts their business. Lee moves on, but Flagg stays, primarily because he's interested in the company's secretary, Helen Dryer (Fritzi Ridgeway). Edward Crane (Edward Brady), the firm's general manager, makes a pass at Helen, and her brother Vic (Joe Bennett) shoots the scoundrel dead. Flagg, however, takes the blame for the killing and flees. Wanted posters are put up all over the West, offering a reward for Flagg's capture and noting that he has a scar on one arm that identifies him. In a faraway town, Flagg sits down for a game of poker, along with the local sheriff, who turns out to be Lee. One of the losers recognizes Flagg as the wanted man and he demands to see his scar. But Lee shoots his old pal in the arm, thus obliterating the mark. When Flagg returns home, he discovers that Vic has confessed to the killing and been pardoned. He also finds out that the copper company wants to buy the ranch for a large sum, so there's a happy ending all around for everybody.
