In its very brief existence, the Pyramid film company turned out one or two pictures of true merit. One of these was the three-reel detective melodrama Eye of a God. In reel one, a forger tries and fails to elude the detective hero by donning women's attire. In reel two, the forger dies in prison, whereupon his cellmate assumes his identity so as to gain a quick parole. Blackmailing his way into the uppermost rungs of society, the ex-convict uses his lofty position to steal a cache of valuable gems. Reel three comes to an end as a sharp-eyed detective chases the villain through the streets of New York, affording viewers some fascinating glimpses of such landmarks as Columbus Circle and the Flatiron Building.
