Mexican filmmaker Miguel Zacarias, who later made the acclaimed El Penon de las Animas, directed this early horror melodrama, utilizing the familiar theme of a mad scientist (Ramon Pereda) who murders young women and drains their blood to keep his paralyzed wife (Esther Fernandez) alive. His plot is eventually foiled by Rene Cardona, who went on to direct several horror films including the cult favorites Las Luchadoras contra la Momia and La Horriplante Bestia Humana. The latter film's gruesome scenes of real-life open-heart surgery make this film's discreet bloodletting and offscreen dismemberment seem positively prudish, but it was still seen as rather shocking for its time. Carlos Lopez (aka "Chaflan") co-stars with Manuel Noriega and Enrique Gonce.
