The wife of a prominent Chicago businessman sends her son to a fancy English university. Returning to the Windy City in the company of a college chum, the now-"gentrified" son is appalled when a vaudeville team mocks his newly acquired British manners and mannerisms. He goes backstage demanding that the team cease and desist, but before long he has befriended the vaudevillians and has joined them in their revelries. The boy's family is appalled at this "shocking" behavior, but the young man redeems himself by subduing a burglar and saving his loved ones. It's amazing what the Essanay Company could pack into a mere ten minutes' running time back in 1909.
