During the week of April 9, 1910, the Pathe company offered three releases: Out of Sight, Out of Mind, A Woman's Caprice, and the half-reel Driven to Steal. The latter film was about a poverty-stricken city dweller who is unable to support his wife and large brood of children. Reducing to thievery, the man rushes into the street, holds up a well-dressed gentleman, and steals a single gold coin -- just enough to feed his family. Surprised that the thief has not taken more, the victim follows the man to his shabby flat. Taking pity on the man's family, the well-to-do gent sets about to vastly improve their financial situation.
