This eight-minute subject was a filmed record of the 1907 English Derby race. Even though most racing enthusiasts were aware that the contest had been won by Richard Croker's "Orby," there were still quite a few fans who wanted to see Orby in action. Hence, this film cleaned up financially when it was imported to New York by entrepreneur Ted Marks. In addition to the race itself, the film devoted much of its screen time to panoramic shots of the well-dressed Epson Downs spectators. According to the reviewer from the trade magazine Variety, the film's climax was greeted with loud applause by the New York patrons.
