This Soviet wartime documentary explores in detail the events of a single day: June 13, 1942. Many of the images are horrifying, showing in merciless close-up the carnage of all-out warfare. Throughout the film, however, there is an inextinguishable ray of hope, thanks to the indomitability of the Russian people. The English-language version of Day After Day was prepared by William S. Gailmor, Philip Sterling and Hilda K. Simms, all of whom served as voiceover narrators. Some of the film's footage was incorporated in a "March of Time" short subject released earlier in 1943.
