Moving Picture World claimed that this melodrama about revenge was "lacking in wholesomeness" while also primly noting that it was "not suitable for feminine audiences." The sordid plot line: Ace Hall (Charles Graham) and Nelson Miles (Louis Dean) are rivals for the hand of Alice Blake (Florence Foster). Miles wins her, and during an argument, Hall is thrown down a hill and crippled for life. The incident unhinges Hall's mind and he becomes determined to get revenge on Miles. When the couple have a baby boy, he kidnaps the infant and rears him as his own. After Judson Hall (Robert C. Travers) grows to manhood, Miles comes into Ace's life once again when he offers to buy his mine. Hall finds out that Alice and Miles have a daughter, Sherry (Muriel Kingston), and he plans to marry Judson off to her, then reveal their relationship as brother and sister after it is too late.
