Lili Bech essayed the title character in the four-reel Swedish production Daughter of Russia. Bech is cast as Olga, a fire-eating revolutionary who "spreads the word" at a Russian university. Olga falls in love with Paul, who, despite his aristocratic upbringing, takes up the heroine's political cudgel. Unfortunately, Paul's parents intervene, persuading him to give up his rebellious notions and marry a woman from his own class. Disillusioned, Olga becomes more dedicated than ever to her cause, earning the soubriquet of "The Stormy Petrel." Loyally, Paul offers to help Olga escape when she is pursued by the authorities, earning an arrest for both of them. Paul's wife and family manage to save him from prison, but Olga is exiled to Siberia. Several more captures and escapes follow before Paul and Olga are finally reunited -- albeit only in death.
