Having satirized "suburbia" in his previous one-reel farce Bungalowing, Victor Moore continued in this same comic vein in the single-reel "Klever Komedies" entry Commuting. After rushing through breakfast with his family, commuter Moore heads out to catch the train for New York -- a daunting task, in that he has no idea where the railroad station is located. When he finally reaches his destination, he discovers that his train is long gone. More frustrations are in store for the hero when he tries to board a home-bound train while carrying an armful of groceries. This stock comic situation segues into a climactic slapstick sequence on a runaway handcar, culminating in the total destruction of Moore's tiny suburban bungalow.
