In this enchanting light comedy, Franklyn Farnum plays Jack Tempest, a very likable young man whose one major flaw is his perpetual lateness. He's in love with Vivian Graham (Agnes Vernon), the daughter of a bank president (Frank Fenten), but so is Bob Barrett (Frank Whitson). Because Jack is constantly missing appointments, he winds up on the verge of ruin, but he's saved when a long-lost uncle wills him five thousand dollars a year and a clock, with the stipulation that the clock be wound at exactly ten o'clock every night and the alarm be set for six in the morning. Keeping this up helps Jack get on track. The jealous Bob tries to have the clock stolen, but is foiled in his attempt. Jack is hired as a secretary by George Morgan (Frederick Montague), who trusts his new employee enough to leave him in charge of a big business deal with Vivian's father. Only after Mr. Graham is impressed with Jack's talents does Vivian reveal that the "long-lost uncle" was really her -- a nice feminist angle for this era!
