This Edison one-reeler was originally heralded as an educational picture. Filmed during a jaunt to South America, the picture offered several intriguing glimpses of the Peruvian Chuncho tribe. According to contemporary reports, audiences were invariably fascinated by films of this nature, especially when the subjects of these films appeared unselfconscious in front of the cameras. Indeed, the Chuncho tribe behaved as if they had been movie stars for years. The only complaint registered by Variety was that the film was too short.
