Though she was actually nearing the quarter-century mark, Jackie Saunders was still able to play the gamine-like heroine of the three-reeler actioner Child of the West. Saunders is cast as Nora, the pretty young daughter of a western rancher who has been disowned by his wealthy family because of past indiscretions. When her dad is killed in a boozy brawl, Nora manages to find work as a cowpuncher on the Bar Z ranch. During this period, one of the new owners of her father's old ranch falls in love with Nora, even though he is put off by her rambunctious behavior. Sometime later, the heroine is whisked Eastward by the legal representatives of her father's rich relatives, and given a "proper" education. At her coming-out party in New York, Nora is reunited by the handsome fellow she'd previously met out west. Once he realizes that this prim-and-proper debutante is none other than the hoydenish Nora, he gulps out a proposal and is immediately accepted.
