Broadway luminary Henry E. Dixey was the star of Famous Players production Chelsea 7750. Dixey plays a crusader district attorney who has incurred the undying hatred of a gangster boss. The villain kidnaps the DA's daughter and threatens to kill her unless his orders are followed to the letter. The hero is not only burdened with this, but also by a crippling accident which has rendered him physically helpless. It is the DA's daughter who, employing a deucedly clever strategy, foils the villains and saves her father's reputation. The consensus of critical opinion in 1914 was that Chelsea 7750 was unworthy of Dixey's talents.
