Nine major characters each receive a chain letter. One of them a paranoid Vietnam veteran, thinks that he cracked its “code.” He discovers an unauthorized plot to inoculate random victims with a cancer-producing virus as part of a government experiment in biological warfare.
Sounds simple enough. But if it’s a political thriller you’re looking for, this is the wrong movie. The plot is incidental, the connections and communications, or lack thereof, of the various characters. Stylistically like no other, Mark Rappaport (<i>Local Color, Scenic Route, Imposters</i>) returns with another deadpan entanglement of people without a clue.
