This film was adapted from a Saturday Evening Post story by Kate Jordan. May Allison plays Fortuna, a dreamy usherette at a theater. She spends far too much time reading romance novels and wishing that some dashing young man would come and take her away, just like in the stories she loves. She doesn't even notice Eddie Lintner (Ben Wilson), the theater manager who loves her. One evening the classy Honorable Owen Pauncefort (Walter I. Percival) comes to the theater and he is charmed by Fortuna. She goes to his house for a midnight supper. Eddie trails them, but standing around in the pouring rain makes him ill and he has to go home. Pauncefort makes a pass at Fortuna, but when she pushes him away, he admits he is already married. His wife, however, left him after a quarrel and while he has hunted for her, he has never found her. He even shows Fortuna her picture. A few nights later, Fortuna sees the woman (Irene Rich) at the theater and she quickly calls Pauncefort and tells him to come by. He does, and the couple is reconciled. Then Fortuna hears about Eddie -- he is still sick, so he dashes to his side. Finally she realizes how much he means to her and they are married.
