The star of this one-reel drama was an uncredited child actress who appeared in several Vitagraph films of the era, including Uncle Tom's Cabin. The story concerns the reformation of an aged miser, who doesn't believe in charity and resists all efforts to help others. His mind changed by the words of a traveling minister, the miser softens his heart sufficiently to allow an orphaned child into his home. Oddly structured, the film consists of a dream sequence that later comes true. It might have been that the filmmakers ran out of plot line, and used this device to repeat several sequences.
