Yancsi Dolly, one-half of the legendary Dolly Sisters, was the star of the Kalem four-reeler Call of the Dance. The daughter of a slum-dwelling inebriate, Natalie (Dolly) supports her family by selling artificial flowers. But whenever there's a spare moment, Natalie gives in to her love of dancing, and it is this talent that brings her to the attention of handsome young district attorney Marston. Unbeknownst to the DA, his wealthy uncle is the head of a white slavery ring, and when Natalie manages to find work in a dance hall, she is kidnapped by the uncle's henchmen. Locked in an abandoned house, Natalie tries to attract the attention of passersby with the aid of a hand mirror and the sun. By a remarkable coincidence, the first person she attracts is none other than Marston, who promptly rescues her. With Marston's help, Natalie becomes the toast of Broadway, dancing for huge and enthusiastic crowds in all the best theaters. Inevitably, Marston's crooked uncle comes back into Natalie's life, necessitating yet another last-minute rescue.
