Bull Fight in Mexico was released on the same Pathe reel as the studio's Arabian-nights melodrama The Captive. The title tells the story, as the matadors and picadors file into the bull ring. Before El Toro is dispensed with, the crowd is regaled by a native dance, staged by a Mexican Indian tribe. Curiously, the bullfighter uses no weapons to subdue the bull, relying instead on his bare hands. Just when the film threatens to become interesting, Bull Fight in Mexico comes to an abrupt end -- possibly the least violent bullfighting picture ever made.
