Starring the husband-and-wife team of Lester Cuneo ("The Smiling Daredevil") and Francelia Billington, this low-budget silent Western, their last together, told the already then ancient story of a punch drunk prizefighter who, in the West, comes to the aid of a female rancher (Billington) and her elderly mother (Fanny Midgley). Bert Sprotte played the dastardly mortgage lender who wants to have his way with the girl. It had all been done many times before (and would be many times again), but rarely as cheaply as in Blue Blazes, which was dumped on the states rights market by Doubleday Productions. His career in ruins and his marriage to Billington faltering, Lester Cuneo committed suicide November 1, 1925.
