In a film based on James Joyce's "Ulysses," a man named Leopold Bloom (Stephen Rea) leaves his home and goes to the pub. There, he meets a young poet named Stephen Dedalus (Hugh O'Conor). The two men share a drink, bond as if they were father and son, and -- later that day -- visit a brothel. In the meantime, Leopold's lusty wife, Molly (Angeline Ball), recalls the couple's courtship. At the end of the day, Leopold and Molly get back into bed and never discover each other's affairs.
