It's too bad that not a print of this Charley Chase comedy seems to have survived -- his co-star here is a very young Jean Arthur. While the premise is nothing new -- Chase is mistakenly assumed to be a thief -- the film has several original twists. Chase plays the clerk at a jeweler's who is sent to deliver some very valuable gems. In a lunch room, he spies a pretty girl (Arthur), and he puts on one of the rings to impress her. The ring, however, happens to be one the girl had ordered, and she thinks he is a thief. To keep track of him, Arthur flirts with him and takes him to a fashionable party, which is being cased by a real gang of crooks. Chase proves his innocence by saving the jewels from the real thieves. The bad guys are arrested and carted off, and Chase wins Arthur's love.
