Selig's split-reel release for the week of September 24, 1910, consisted of two comedies: Big Medicine and Bertie's Elopement. In Big Medicine, a cowboy arrives home late at night, stewed to the gills. When his wife demands an explanation, the besotted cowpoke claims that he was set upon by Indians. One by one, he rendered the savages unconscious and escaped -- or at least that's his story. When the truth of the situation is revealed, the wife goes on a warpath of her own, and very nearly claims her hubby's scalp.
