This is a rough-cut, amateur production about the minor odyssey of Bhombal, a young Bengali who commits a terrible act according to his Hindu culture's pacifist leanings -- he kills a snake. Since snakes can be manifestations of the sacred nagas or "snake gods," this is a particularly heinous deed. For his transgression, Bhombal gets a severe beating from his uncle, so severe that the boy runs away from home. Encountering all sorts of people in his travels, sometimes frightening, Bhombal tries to be brave but after all is said and done, it is fairly certain that life away from his family is not something he can take for very long.
