Music video director Amy Goldstein entered the film world with this 45-minute horror fantasy about an ancient lesbian vampire named Marie (Edwige Sandy Gray) posing as a blues singer and model in New York City. Filled with stylistic touches often reminiscent of French filmmaker Jean Rollin, the film is a perfect example of style over substance. Striking imagery such as Marie's eerie ride through Central Park in a ghostly carriage is complemented by the music of Sting, but the film ultimately emerges as a hollow exercise in visual composition. Goldstein took four years to graduate to features with an unimpressive copy of La Femme Nikita called The Silencer. Gregory St. John co-stars.
