This was comedian Sam Bernard's first Keystone two-reeler. In it, he plays a restaurant chef who's in love with the cashier (Mae Busch). But he has a rival in the restaurant's proprietor (Glen Cavender). To a fit of ire, the chef pours the contents of a bottle marked "poison" into the proprietor's pie. But the cashier's sister gets hold of the pie and takes it home. What follows is a typical Keystone chase which ends when it is discovered that the "poison" was really whiskey. Bernard wasn't really a slapstick comedian, but he did have some help here from Ford Sterling and Charlie Murray in small roles.
