Not surprisingly, this melodrama about the Northwest Mounted Police was based on a novel by James Oliver Curwood. Corporal Steele (Harry T. Morey) is known among his fellow Mounties as "beauty proof," since he's an apparent woman-hater. But they don't know his dark secret -- years before, he had befriended the villainous Garson (George Majeroni), who thanked him by taking off with his wife and then leaving her to die. Steele is determined to someday meet up with his enemy again. Because he apparently has no interest in women, Steele is given the assignment of tracking down Thorpe (Denton Vane), who is accused of murder. Every other Mountie has been unsuccessful because they fell for Thorpe's beautiful sister, Carol (Betty Blythe). Steele seems like the perfect man for the job, and it turns out he's even more perfect than anyone expected. He discovers that Thorpe is innocent of the crime and that the same man who destroyed his life is after Carol. Garson, now known as Hodge, tries to get away, but he's no match for Steele's persistence. It all comes down to a fight to the death between the two men. Steele is victorious and he takes Carol as his wife.
