Falling in love with a girl whom he passes in the street, our hero is too shy to introduce himself. He prevails upon a taxi driver to deliver a love note to the heroine. The girl's family misunderstands and beats the poor cabman to a pulp. Even after witnessing this, the young would-be Romeo decides to "speak up" for himself. Sure enough, he too is soundly pummeled by the girl's kinfolk. The moral of this little one-reeler would seem to be, "Forget romance and take up another hobby." The trade magazine Variety's critic singled out the title character for praise, citing the actor's "excellent pantomime."
