William V. Mong was both director and star of this domestic drama. John Gallagher (Mong) is a wealthy, retired politician who has taken a wife (Gretchen Lederer) who is much younger than himself. She married him in the belief that he would only live for a few months; after a year she's disappointed to find that he's still vital and healthy. She falls in love with Wilbur James, a man far closer to her own age (M.K. Wilson), and they begin meeting each other on the sly. Gallagher eavesdrops on them one day and realizes that his wife never loved him. After a year, he tells her that he's leaving for Europe, and to arrange for a divorce. She's overjoyed, but James has met another woman, Dorothy Wiloby (Molly Malone). They fall in love and James makes the decision to break things off with Mrs. Gallagher. She is compelled to return to her husband and beg him to take her back.
