Filmed in the French studios of Pathe pictures, Appeal of the Prairie offered a not entirely convincing version of the American Wild West. The hero, a noble Indian, falls in love with a beautiful white woman. Alas, he finds himself out of place at a garden party held in the girl's honor, just as she feels like a square peg in a round hole in his tribal camp. Will true love conquer all. The folks at Pathe refused to reveal the ending in their official synopsis; the folks at Variety merely commented that the lead Indian's makeup was awful.
