Greek filmmaker Pantelis Skroubelos directed this grim look at the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in the summer of 1974. With the atrocities still fresh in its audiences' memories, the film paints the story of three Cypriot soldiers and their abuses in a Turkish prison camp. There is no triumph to be had in the downbeat film, for even when the film's hero (Thodoros Katsadramis) escapes to apparent safety and convinces the Human Rights Council of the Turks' hideous actions, he is swiftly assassinated in retaliation. Katy Papanika, Makis Revmatas, and Orso Maria Guerrini co-star.
