A typically moralistic British war-time melodrama, A Man the Army Made starred Army Captain Paul R. Hall as Dick Clarke, a former boozer who proves his true worth in the trenches. Returning from the war, Dick finds his wife (Queenie Thomas) in the arms of a scoundrel (H. Agar Lyons and neglecting their little son (Mickey Brantford). Naturally, true romance -- and patriotism -- wins out in the end. Leading lady Queenie Thomas was the wife of the film's director, Bertram Phillips.
