This four-reel "Russian Revolution" melodrama was produced by Solax Films, the American stamping grounds of European producer/director Alice Guy Blaché. The story focuses on an elderly Russian activist and his family. Eternally persecuted by the Czarist troops, the old Nihilist is finally shunted off to a Siberian prison. At this point, his wife and daughter cook up an elaborate and seemingly foolproof escape plan. They receive unexpected help in the form of the son of the Governor of Moscow, whose sympathies are firmly in the Revolutionaries' camp. Complicating matters is the fact that the daughter of the old man has been selected by lot to murder the Governor -- which she intends to do, even though she is now in love with the Governor's son. A Fight for Life was also released as Exiled to Siberia.
