A Brother's Wrong was given a higher rating than most Edison films, if only because of the superiority of its photography. Brothers William and Jack are both in love with Lucille, but Jack has the inside track. Swearing revenge when Jack wins Lucille, William carefully arranges to frame his brother on a robbery charge. Lifting a fat wallet from an unsuspecting stranger, William deposits the wallet in Jack's pocket, then calls the cops. The boys' father disowns Jack, who leaves home and goes to sea. Later on, Lucille appears to Jack in his dreams, beckoning him home. He arrives to find the repentant William on his deathbed, a victim of consumption. With his last breath, William clears Jack's name, paving the way for a climactic embrace between Jack and Lucille.
