Frontend Engineer

Must Have:

  • Solid understanding of UX and UI design with an emphasis on maximizing usability.
  • Knowledge of grids, typography, hierarchy, and information flow.
  • Mobile and responsive website coding and implementation experience.
  • Understanding of design constraints such as browser capabilities, media types, platform differences, and operating systems.
  • Expert knowledge of latest CSS methodologies and cross-browser CSS styling.
  • Experience with the entire build to deploy process with npm, webpack, eslint, etc.
  • Experience with modern javascript frameworks such as React, Ember, or Angular.
  • Experience developing production web applications and MVC frameworks.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience developing CSS, Javascript and front end UI technologies.

Bonus Points:

  • BS in Computer Science.
  • Experience with Photoshop / Sketch.

Senior Backend Engineer

Must Have:

  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.
  • Knowledge of software design patterns.
  • Experience designing and developing concurrent distributed applications operating on large clusters of machines.
  • Extensive knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, and data structures.
  • Familiarity setting up caching layers and task queue.
  • Strong object oriented programming and modeling skills.
  • Experience maintaining and debugging large-scale distributed services.
  • Expert at designing and building production APIs.
  • Enjoy writing well-tested, well-organized code.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Java and/or Scala backend engineer.

Technologies:

  • Strong Spring, Hibernate and Maven knowledge.
  • Experience with Cassandra and/or Mongo.
  • Experience with Apache Spark.
  • Experience with relational databases like MySQL. Expert at data modeling / db design with the ability to write efficient SQL queries with your eyes closed.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with scaling systems (AWS/EC2, load-balancing).
  • Prior experience writing low-latency, high volume, fault tolerant systems is a big plus.
  • Experience operating and maintaining services running on Linux systems.
  • Proficient using common linux tools which aid in debugging and running services.

Data Manager

We work with large and small movie distributors, media companies and industry associations, offering website building tools, specialized widgets and our API to partners and clients. Our software is integrated with digital marketing campaigns for both independent and major movies and media sites, helping consumers find out how, when and where to watch their favorite content.

As Data Manager, you will work, both independently and in conjunction with the tech team to develop and implement procedures to ensure data quality and delivery for movie and TV metadata, as well as data from movie theaters and online platforms like Amazon, iTunes, etc. You will also make suggestions to our team for systemic improvements based on your data analysis.

Interest and experience in working in the technology and entertainment industry is important. A successful candidate will be energetic, flexible and capable of working independently, with strong interpersonal and analytical skills.

Requirements:

  • Passion for analysis and critical evaluation of data sources/databases
  • Strong verbal, written and communication skills
  • Basic understanding of data pipelines, APIs and structured data
  • Can-do positive attitude – enthusiastic, determined and persuasive
  • Quick intellect and demonstrated ability to produce quality work under tight deadlines
  • Must enjoy recognizing patterns, identifying systemic problems and data QA
  • Ability to prioritize, problem-solve and multitask
  • Proficient with Excel
  • Some experience writing SQL and/or querying databases a plus
  • Experience in working with digital marketing technology or ad tech a plus

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure data quality through data analysis and QA
  • Manage both in-house and occasional out-of-office QA team
  • Debug problems in existing data sources and pipelines
  • Liaise with clients and providers to troubleshoot or improve existing systems
  • Write data quality reports to share with team and track issues to ensure resolution
